French Cheese + Champagne

Craving something indulgent or want to spoil someone special? This is the pack for you. We’ve selected three decadent French cheeses and paired them with French Champagne. When pairing with champagne creamy cheeses work best, we’ve selected three of our favourite French ones.

Duval Leroy is one of the only independent and family owned prestige Champagne houses left in the famous region, and this personal investment in the house's wines results in truly spectacular Champagne's. This non vintage Brut has a wonderful full-bodied nature with a rich, creamy mousse supported with great lemon and lime zest. A delicious effervescence continues on the long and elegant finish.

Langres - Dating back to the 18th century, this mild smooth textured washed rind cheese from the high plains of Langres in Champagne is ripened under a washed rind and is distinguished by a small indented basin in the top, which is sometimes filled with a puddle of Marc de Champagne before it is served.
A red dye extracted from the rocou (seeds of the American annatto tree) is applied by hand which gives the cheese a natural orange colour.

Le Secret des Lys (in ceramic) - made near the village of Cleron high in the mountains of the Franche-Comte region by the Perrin family, Le Secret des Lys is a fragile cheese that is matured in a small ceramic dish which enables the cheese to hold its form as it slowly ripens. The evoking fresh earthy and mushroom aromas of the rind give way to buttery and creamy flavours on the palate, finishing with a very slight citrus tang that is void of any bitterness. Its dense cake-like texture dissipates quickly to an almost melt-in-the-mouth like quality which can be quite moreish once you get started! The little terracotta pot which Le Secret des Lys comes in can be heated. For a decadent finish to any meal remove from packaging and heat gently in the oven in it's ceramic dish prior to serving with crusty bread and champagne.

Brillat Savarin Affine selected by Will Studd - a mild triple-cream cheese that has a slightly chalky centre when young. Once ripe, the texture softens and the centre can be scooped out with a spoon.

Each pack contains:
Le Secret des Lys (in ceramic) - 80g
Brillat-Savarin Affine selected by Will Studd 200g
Duval Leroy Champagne
Oliver Lane crispbread (Gluten Free)
